Darkness

We decided that for our Valentine week date we would go to the place that signifies our love. . . the Temple. It was very nice considering we haven't gone to the temple together for awhile. We had just finished a session and we were sitting in the Celestial Room when suddenly all the lights went out. Within a few seconds the back up lights came on so it was not completely dark. The thing that I find the most interesting about this experience was the conversations that we overheard and what we saw as we proceeded to go to the dressing room.

There was a woman who was talking to a man (a director of sorts I assume) and she said something to the affect of it is too dark to continue doing sealings. When we got to the dressing room there was a line of people that were stopped at the door by one of the workers who wouldn't let them go in until the lights were back on. We heard one worker ask what they should tell the front desk. He told them to let the people come in but they would have to wait in the lobby because no work could be done until the electricity came back on.

We were so glad that we went when we did and were able to complete the work that we were there to do. What if we had been even a few minutes later, or even an hour. Depending on the time frame of when the people got there they would be in different places/stages of the work they were engaged in.

Alma 34

32For behold, this ^alife is the time for men to ^bprepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of ^cthis life is the day for men to perform their ^dlabors.

33And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many^awitnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not^bprocrastinate the day of your ^crepentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the^dnight of ^edarkness wherein there can be no labor performed.

34Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful ^acrisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth ^bpossess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.
