this picture was an afterthought taken in the hotel room right before we left for home
So this year for Christmas my wonderful husband decided to get me a night away without the kids as my present. We actually haven't had a night without the kids since Jaron was born (translation=never) due to school, work, funds, young child or planning. Well, Glen got it all set up and we just went. It was so wonderful!! I have to admit that I did worry about and miss the kids a bit, but it by no means got in the way :) We were able to go to our old stomping grounds in Logan. We went to the temple, we ate at one of the restaurant we love (Glen has been fantasying about the specialty chicken for the last month), and we went to a good ol' Aggie basketball game. It was fabulous! Another thing that made it so great was that I didn't worry as much about funding for the trip because we had a wonderful gift given to Glen at work. On Friday he just got an anonymous Christmas card that just said Merry Christmas and had an unexpected sum of money in it. I am almost crying now just thinking about what an amazing blessing that was for us. I know we are by no means as bad off as we could be, but it just really touched my heart to know that someone was thinking of us and wanted us to know in such a generous way.

Congratulations you guys! That is wonderful.
Sounds like you guys had a great time! You both look happy on the picture.
That's awesome, Rachel. Those moments are precious because they are so rare once children come into the picture. Glad you could get away.
And we've been recipients of such generous acts of love too and words can't describe the appreciation that is felt. You guys deserved it! Hope you enjoyed your Christmas too!! Happy Holidays!
Good job Glen! Glad you had fun, and I still owe you some serious babysitting someday.
That's a great gift! Both from Glen and the anonymous gift!
You didn't by chance hit up the Blue Bird, did you? They have a yummy "specialty chicken."
That is awesome! Sounds like fun! I miss Logan!
How fun. It is so nice to get away for ahile without any kids. I can't wait for my getaway in January.
