Birthday Extravaganza

On Wednesday I was able to go to Lagoon to help celebrate me, getting older. It was really nice. We left the kids with Glen's sister, so it was just Glen and me. It was really great! Glen actually was going for his school, but he asked permission for me to come with him. I think the ride I liked the best, Wicked, ironically was the ride I was the most scared to go on. Isn't it funny how that works sometimes? We also had a fun impromptu barbeque and swimming with the kids at my friend's house when we got back. You know summer is here when people start breakin' out the ol' grill. Scrumptious!

On Thursday I spent the day with my sister Lisa just hanging out and planning what we are doing for some of our next projects that sometimes happen and sometimes don't. :) My in-laws took me out to Red Robin for the big day. Jaron was enthralled by the train that just kept going around in circles above the bar. Everytime it would start coming around he would start yelling here comes the train. I am sure the people around us were enjoying it. ha ha

On Friday my sister came over. We did dinner and a movie "Bedtime Stories." It is obviously not my favorite show, but it was not too bad for an Adam Sandler movie. Also my sister gave me a gerber daisy plant that just makes me happy everytime I see it. She also gave me some yummy salmon. It is amazing that I would still enjoy this fish even after working in an Alaska fish cannery for a summer, but I do. Salmon actually always reminds me of my grandpa who would go with some of the uncles and cousins on fishing trips to Alaska. When they would get home we would have a big salmon fry. Also since I am obvisously slipping down memory lane I just want to add the I also remember my birthdays growing up would sometimes fall on the weekend after school got out or Memorial Day Weekend when we would go camping to Medicene Log with all the extended family. Those were some good times, even the hike from Hell. We who were there could never forget it. The words "it's just over this hill" come to mind which full circles me back to the thoughts on birthdays. :)

I didn't know you worked at an Alaskan Fish Cannery. I wanted to do that one summer and almost did. You'll have to teach me how to properly cook fish. Ever since our last fish episode I'm reluctant to ever try again. We haven't had very many good experiences with fish. Glad you had a happy birthday, we had fun seeing you guys and had a blast watching the kids.
