Gratitude

This last weekend we went to a family reunion. It was nice to remember how people should really treat each other. It is amazing how family can either bring out the worst or the best in someone. I am glad that mine usually brings out the later. People caring for people that is what it is all about. Sure it may be a little cliche, but it is true. I am so blessed to have a family that embraces God and his teachings. I shutter to think what my life would be like without the blessings that come from living the gospel. I always heard growing up that true happiness comes from living the commandments, and now I can truly testify to it.
Sure we have our ups and downs, but when God is on your side the ups go higher and the downs don't seem to go as low. I guess this is kind of a tangent, but as I was getting ready to write I was overcome with a profound sense of gratitude. Gratitude to God for the blessings he is continually pouring out on my family. Gratitude to goodly parents who taught me right, wrong, and the value of service. Gratitude to a husband that loves God and me completely and shows it through his words and actions. Gratitude for friends and family that celebrate my accomplishments and provide comfort in times of need.
I have a simple saying that I keep in my scriptures "When you do your best God will do the Rest"
I truly believe that with God nothing is impossible.
